West Bladen Golf Earns Second-Place Finish at Land O’ Lakes in SAC 6 Match

Whiteville, NC – On a breezy Monday afternoon, the West Bladen Knights golf team turned in a strong showing at the Southeastern Athletic Conference match held at Land O’ Lakes Golf Course on Monday.
The Knights secured a second-place finish with a team score of 350.
Midway High School claimed the top spot in the conference meet, posting an impressive team score of 321.
West Bladen followed closely behind, edging out Clinton, who finished third with a 358. Rounding out the standings were Fairmont (376), Red Springs (401), and St. Pauls (473).
Leading the charge for West Bladen was sophomore Seth Faircloth, carding a team-best round of 80.
Senior Nolan Sessoms turned in a solid round of 88, tying with junior Jackson Pait, who matched Sessoms stroke-for-stroke in a confident performance of his own.
Freshman Jonathan Gooden showed promise for the future, shooting a 94.
Sophomore Evan Melvin rounded out the Knights’ scoring with a 95, contributing to a well-rounded team effort.
West Bladen will set their eyes on their next conference meet on Monday at Scotthurt Golf Club.
