Bladenboro, NC - The West Bladen Knights edged out the East Columbus Gators in a nail-biter, claiming an 11-10 win in non-conference play.

The Knights showed plenty of patience at the plate, drawing a total of 12 walks, which helped keep the bases busy all night. They also came through with some timely hitting, collecting a mix of singles and doubles to keep the pressure on the Gators’ defense.

Garrett Dunham and Brady Durden led the offensive charge, each driving in a pair of runs and scoring twice themselves.

Ashton Davis had a big night as well, reaching base multiple times and picking up two RBIs of his own. Aiden Russ, Josh Dawson, and Jackson Smith each chipped in with key hits, while Cade Allen, Daniel Bryan, and Allister Russ worked deep counts to draw walks and manufacture runs.

Jonah Bryan came in as a pinch runner throughout the game, stealing a pair of bases.

West Bladen’s ability to string together walks, hits, and smart base running ultimately made the difference in this back-and-forth battle.

West Bladen moves to 3-0 on the season and will travel to East Columbus on Thursday.
