Middle School Girls Basketball: Emereau 24, Harrells Christian Academy 8.

Harrells, NC - The Emereau Bladen girls defeated Harrells Christian Academy on Thursday evening. Emereau used the first and fourth quarter to build a big lead in the 24-8 win.

Keri Burgess got the game started by scoring 6 points with Kylee Spaulding sinking a free throw for the Aviators. For the Crusaders, Kendall rattled in two free throws with Emereau taking the 7-2 lead after the first quarter. To start the second quarter, Brenlee sank a free throw for Harrells. Emereau's Mollie Sasser and Mae Valentiner added in two layups in the second quarter with the Aviators taking a 11-3 lead into the break.

The second half started off Kayleigh hitting a 3-pointer for the Crusaders. Keri Burgess and Jenniyah Jones both sinkng a free throw each. Lila young added in a layup to extend the Emereau lead further at 15-6. Emereau ended the game on a 9-0 run that included Keri Burgress sinking two free throws and Jenniyah Jones scoring a layup. Harper Allen sank a free throw of her own and Angelina Jones scored a 2-point basket. Rylee Dowless scored a layup to cap off the 9-0 run.

Keri Burgess led all scorers with 9 points. Emereau will look to continue their success against Riverside Christian Academy at home next Tuesday, January 21st at 4pm as the girls kick off the action, with the boys to follow aroud 5:15pm.
