East Bladen Shows Grit, going 2-1 in Strong Tournament Showing at Freedom Christian

Fayetteville, NC - The East Bladen Eagles headed into Spring Break looking to continue momentum—and they found it during a three-game stretch at the Freedom Christian Academy Tournament in Fayetteville.


The Eagles posted a 2-1 record over the weekend, showing a blend of power at the plate, resilience on the mound, and team chemistry that continues to evolve as they head into the final stretch of the season.


East Bladen now stands at 10-9 overall with a 7-5 record in Waccamaw Conference play.


Game 1: East Bladen 13, Village Christian Academy 6 (Friday)

After trailing 6-2 early, East Bladen exploded for 10 combined runs in the fourth and fifth innings to take control.


The bats came alive when it mattered most, with Debo Lewis crossing the plate twice and adding an RBI and a walk to help fuel the rally.


Andrew Musslewhite continued his steady production with two runs scored, a pair of hits, two RBIs, and a walk, while Colton Daly drove in three runs in key spots.


Zach Sholar also provided a spark, scoring twice and driving in one, while Tyler Eason reached base twice and scored twice as well.


Jayce Hatcher added two runs of his own, and Easton Bostic notched a hit, an RBI, a walk, and two runs scored.


Aiden Hargrove contributed a run, an RBI, and a walk, while Jaxon Hair and Omar Powell each added plate appearances.


On the mound, Sholar got the start and battled through four innings, giving up six earned runs while striking out three.


Isaiah Lee calmed things down in relief, allowing no earned runs across 2.2 innings. Bostic closed things out by recording the final out of the game.


Game 2: Freedom Christian Academy 8, East Bladen 7 (Saturday)

In what became the tightest game of the tournament, the Eagles fell just short against the host team.


Trailing in the seventh inning, Debo Lewis blasted his second triple of the day to bring home a critical run, putting the tying run on third.


However, three consecutive strikeouts ended the rally, sealing the Eagles’ lone tournament loss.


Lewis was electric at the plate with two triples, a single, two RBIs, and two runs scored.


Zach Sholar showed consistency with three singles, while Jayce Hatcher added a double and scored twice.


Isaiah Lee drove in a run, and Easton Bostic reached base twice and contributed a run and an RBI.


Colton Daly and Tyler Eason each chipped in a hit, while Braylon Cromartie added a run and a walk.


Musslewhite drew two walks, and Aiden Hargrove also crossed the plate.


On the mound, Hatcher started the game and struck out two over two innings.


Bostic followed with a strong relief outing, tossing four innings with eight strikeouts while giving up just two earned runs.


Game 3: East Bladen 7, Wake Christian Academy 4 (Monday)

East Bladen came out fast and never let up, plating four runs in the first inning and three more in the third.


Isaiah Lee was a catalyst, scoring twice and collecting two hits and a walk.


Colton Daly added a single, a double, and a run scored.


Jayce Hatcher knocked in two runs on a hit and also scored once.


Tyler Eason contributed a hit and two RBIs.


Zach Sholar added a hit, a run, and an RBI, and Omar Powell also came around to score.


Andrew Musslewhite drew a walk and scored a run, while Debo Lewis, Jaxon Hair, Easton Bostic, Braylon Cromartie, and Aiden Hargrove each contributed to the team effort with key at-bats and baserunning presence.


The Eagles used a few arms on the mound. Lewis opened with two innings of work, giving up three earned runs and striking out two.


Braylon Cromartie was efficient over three scoreless innings, allowing just one hit, and Eason and Hatcher combined to finish the game, with Eason striking out one and Hatcher closing the door.


With a 2-1 showing and several players stepping up in crucial moments, Head Coach’s squad leaves Fayetteville with valuable experience and confidence.


The Eagles look poised to make a strong push finish out their regular season following Spring Break.
