East Bladen Golf Claims 1A Waccamaw Conference Title

Loris, NC – East Bladen’s golf team clinched the 1A classification title in the Waccamaw Conference on Monday, earning a trip to the 1A East Regional Tournament set for May 5th at Lane Tree Golf Course in Goldsboro.

In a field that included both 1A and 2A schools, East Bladen finished second overall behind South Columbus, who took the 2A title.

The Eagles posted a team score of 392, edging out Whiteville (400) and firmly establishing themselves as the top 1A team in the conference.

Leading the way for East Bladen was Henry Simmons, who carded a 93. Simmons showed solid course management throughout the round.

Gabriel Wright followed closely with a 97. Wright continues to bring dependable scoring to the Eagles’ lineup.

Senior Connor Smith wrapped up his round with a 98. The team leader has been a steady presence all season long, and his experience was evident.

Dylan Register turned in a 104. Register continues to show promise and resilience.

Rounding out the lineup was junior Hunter Simmons with a 114. His effort contributed to the team total and helped seal the title for East Bladen in a competitive conference showing.

The Eagles now shift their focus to the 1A East Regional on May 5th, where they’ll look to extend their postseason run.
