East Bladen Girls Defeats Whiteville Twice in Conference Shutouts

Elizabethtown, NC - The East Bladen girls soccer team turned in two commanding performances this week, defeating Whiteville by identical 9-0 scores on both Monday and Wednesday in Waccamaw Conference action.
The Lady Eagles improved to 12-1-1 overall and now hold a 10-1 mark in conference play, showcasing the kind of sharp teamwork and finishing touch that has defined their season.
Monday Night – Senior Night 9-0 Statement
Monday night’s home match was a celebration of East Bladen’s senior class, and the team responded with a performance that honored each of them with purpose and precision.
Just over a minute into the match, Macey Potter opened the scoring, finishing off a pass from NeNe Ward.
Potter would strike again later in the half, this time on an assist from Gabby Rebollar. Ward followed with a goal of her own, fed by a combination effort from Jackie Medina-Leal and Potter.
Jackie joined the scoring surge midway through the half, courtesy of a setup from Anna Miranda. Ward added another before the break, again assisted by Miranda.
In the second half, East Bladen’s offensive rhythm only grew stronger. Ward added two more goals in quick succession, both assisted by Jackie Medina-Leal.
Jackie then scored twice herself, capping off a dominant stretch with goals less than a minute apart.
Jaziyah Daniels earned the shutout in goal, needing just one save to preserve the clean sheet. Her senior teammates—Lynn Escobar Perez, NeNe Ward, Jackie Medina-Leal, Katie Baza, Leah McGill, Mary Frances Sutton, Anna Miranda, and Jaziyah Daniels herself—were all recognized before kickoff, and their impact was felt throughout the night.
Wednesday Night – Road Rout in Whiteville 9-0
On the road Wednesday, East Bladen showed no signs of slowing down.
The scoring began early again, as NeNe Ward assisted to Jackie Medina-Leal for the opening goal. From there, Jackie took control of the attack, tallying three goals and three assists by the end of the night.
Anna Miranda added two goals and an assist of her own, while Rebollar netted two goals—including a stunning free kick from 30 yards out—and also added an assist.
Macey Potter got on the scoresheet with a second-half goal, and Ward closed out the scoring with another finish, assisted once more by Jackie.
Defensively, East Bladen was in full control, outshooting Whiteville 24-1.
Aubri Nixon handled goalkeeping duties in this match and didn’t need to make a save as the Lady Eagles locked down another shutout.
JV Battle Ends in a Draw
In JV action, East Bladen tied Whiteville 1-1. Abigail Ventura gave the Lady Eagles the lead with a first-half goal, but the match ended in a draw despite a strong showing from the younger squad.
