Tuesday's Game: Bladenboro 10, West Columbus 1

Cerro Gordo, NC - Bladenboro's middle school baseball team opened their two-game stretch with a statement win on the road Monday, taking down West Columbus 10-1 behind a strong team effort at the plate and on the bases.


Gaston Russ set the tone early, collecting two singles and a double while also scoring a run. His approach at the plate helped fuel the Bulldogs’ offense throughout the game. Gauge King chipped in with two solid singles, consistently finding ways to get on base.


Keithan Russ showed patience and discipline, drawing a pair of walks and later scoring. Sawyer King, was a frequent visitor to the basepaths as well, reaching on three walks and scoring twice in the process.


Brooks Carroll added two singles of his own and matched that effort with two runs scored.


Ty Thurman gave the lineup some power, belting two doubles and scoring a run to help stretch the Bulldogs' lead.


Drake Gause filled up the stat sheet, drawing two walks, recording a single, and scoring twice, while Oxel Campos made an impact with a single, a walk, and a run scored.


Dalton Ammons also contributed with competitive at-bats, rounding out a performance that saw the entire lineup involved in the offensive surge.


Tuesday's Game: Bladenboro 3, Central 7

Bladenboro, NC - A day after a dominant road win, the Bulldogs returned home Tuesday to face Central and battled in a tighter contest, ultimately falling 7-3.


Even in defeat, the team showed heart and effort from top to bottom.


Gaston Russ continued to work the count and reached base with a walk. Keithan Russ added a walk as well and later came around to score, showing hustle and awareness on the basepaths.


Sawyer King remained active at the plate, reaching base twice—once on a walk and once after being hit by a pitch—and scored one of the Bulldogs’ three runs.


Drake Gause kept producing with a single and added another run to his tally for the week.


Brooks Carroll and Ty Thurman each drew a walk to help set the table, while Oxciel Campos reached on an error that helped keep a rally alive.


Dalton Ammons added another walk to his total, continuing to display discipline at the plate.


Bladenboro will travel to play Elizabethtown on Monday, April 28th following Spring Break.
