Bladenboro Edges East Columbus in 7–6 Thriller

Lake Waccamaw, NC - The Bladenboro Bulldogs clawed their way back to a .500 record with a gutsy 7–6 win over East Columbus on the road, improving to 2-2 on the season.


In a back-and-forth contest, every play seemed to matter, and the Bulldogs made sure to capitalize on their chances.


At the top of the order, Gaston Russ led the charge with a powerful day at the plate, delivering a single and a double while also crossing home plate to help build early momentum.


Keithan Russ, stayed locked in as well, picking up two base hits and keeping pressure on the East Columbus defense throughout the afternoon.


Gauge King added a solid single to the mix, contributing to a lineup that was finding its rhythm at just the right time. Sawyer King, may not have reached base, but he played a steady role on defense and helped anchor the infield.


Brooks Carroll turned in an electric performance, scoring two crucial runs and picking up a pair of base hits. His aggressive baserunning and heads-up play made a major difference in the close contest.


Ty Thurman was consistent from start to finish, racking up three singles and adding a run scored of his own. His bat stayed hot all game long, providing a reliable spark whenever the Bulldogs needed it.


Drake Gause showed patience at the plate by drawing a walk and later advancing all the way to third base. His presence on the bases applied pressure and created opportunities for his teammates.


Axel Campos delivered two timely singles and crossed home plate as well, adding to Bladenboro’s offensive depth. Dalton Ammons also had a breakout day, picking up two singles and scoring twice—his aggressive instincts on the basepaths gave the Bulldogs just the edge they needed.


In the late innings, Jeremiah Bryan stepped in as a sub and contributed with energy, joining a group of Bladenboro reserves—Gray Nobles, Rylin Bordeaux, Will Allen, Triton Bordeaux, Zion Ellison, and Roderick Bellamy—who stayed ready and supported their teammates throughout the game.


It was a full-team effort from the Bulldogs, who showed grit and determination to close out a hard-fought win. They will play Clarkton on the road Wednesday.
