Clarkton, NC - Bladenboro’s baseball team found its rhythm on both sides of the ball Monday afternoon, cruising to a convincing 14-2 victory over Clarkton. The win moves Bladenboro to 3-2 on the season and showcased a well-rounded offensive effort from top to bottom.
Gaston Russ set the tone early with a strong day at the plate.
The dynamic leadoff hitter was everywhere—scoring twice, drawing a walk, and delivering a booming triple that sparked the Bulldogs' offense. He added a single and an RBI to his stat line, contributing in nearly every way possible.
Gauge King kept the pressure on Clarkton’s defense, reaching base and driving in a run while also crossing the plate himself. His brother, Sawyer King, added to the team’s firepower with a single, a walk, and two runs scored, showing his knack for getting on base and making things happen.
Keithan Russ delivered quietly but effectively, tallying a run, an RBI, and a walk as he worked his way around the bases with disciplined plate appearances. Brooks Carroll made a big impact with his bat and his legs, scoring three times and reaching base in every appearance. He chipped in two singles and worked a walk, helping drive the offense forward.
Ty Thurman matched that energy with three runs of his own, reaching on a pair of errors and adding a base hit to round out a productive day.
