BASEBALL: Emereau Aviators Improve to 4-0 with Gritty Win Over Clarkton

Elizabethtown, NC - The Emereau Aviators baseball team remained unbeaten on the season with a 5-3 victory over Clarkton on Wednesday afternoon at Bladen County Park.
The Aviators struck early, plating one run in each of the second, third, and fourth innings before adding two more in the fifth.
Clarkton rallied with three runs in the top of the sixth, but Emereau held on to seal the win and improve to 4-0.
Leading the charge on the mound was Stryker Pait, who turned in a dominant four-inning start, allowing just one hit and no earned runs while striking out eight and walking two.
Pait also helped his own cause at the plate, collecting two hits, scoring a run, driving in another, and drawing a walk.
Greylon Robinson pitched the fifth inning and earned the win despite some turbulence in the sixth.
He struck out two but allowed three earned runs. Robinson also played a key role offensively, reaching base twice with a hit and a walk, and scoring two of Emereau’s five runs.
Colt Lewis came in to close the game and slammed the door with a strong final inning. He gave up one hit but allowed no walks and struck out two to secure the win. Lewis also contributed offensively with a walk and a run scored.
Noah Ray chipped in with a solid effort at the plate, tallying a hit, scoring a run, and driving in another. Gunner Lewis added to the scoring with an RBI and a walk, helping the Aviators maintain pressure on Clarkton’s pitching staff.
Cooper Patrick showed patience at the plate, drawing two walks, while Vance Rowland also reached base once with a walk of his own.
The Aviators will look to keep their perfect season alive when they hit the road Monday to face Sampson Middle.
